She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Matthew Hammons; son, Mark Henry Hammons; son-in-law, John Thomas Poore; and sister, Willie Grey Barnes. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Poore; brother, George Louie Clardy; grandchildren, Heather Poore, Hollie Poore, Megan Hammons, and Madison Hammons; great-grandchildren, Breanna Poore, Marley Poore, Macey Poore, Morgan Poore, and Bentley Poore-Rolly. Jo was an operating room nurse at Medical Center East for over 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 6-8 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Her service will begin at 1 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with Bro. Bobby Earls officiating.
