WALKER, Ellen "Dorothy" (nee Watt) August 4, 1905 - October 17, 2006 Dorothy, the last of nine children, went home to join her family in heaven on October 17, 2006, at the age of 101 years. She died peacefully with her family at her side. She will be sadly missed by her son Robert Walker; her grandsons, Jeff, Jon (Lynne) and Craig Walker and Scott Myers; her great-grandchildren, Alexander and Sara Walker; many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Jean McNab. She was predeceased by her siblings, Lydia, Frank, Alice, Bill, John, Adeline, Vera and George; and her husband, Earl Walker. Dorothy graduated from The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton and her nurse's training shaped the rest of her life - caring for others was truly her gift. She continued nursing until her retirement at the age of seventy-five. Throughout her 101 years she blessed and touched many lives and set an example for all who knew her. Her philosophy through adversity was to "just keep going", which she did bravely, with no complaints, right to the end. Dorothy's desire to travel took her to numerous countries throughout the world. For many years she was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge and an elegant model for the Kerby Centre Fashion Group. She had the gift of finding humor in most any situation and never hesitated to laugh at herself. A most generous soul, Dorothy epitomized grace, elegance and dignity - and above all else - she was a lady. She will be greatly missed.
