Elizabeth "Becky" Racine January 3, 1968 - February 28, 2012 STERLING - Elizabeth "Becky" Paige Racine, age 44, after a very courageous battle, passed away peacefully in her family's love and care on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Becky was born on January 3, 1968 in Putnam, the daughter of Ronald "Beanie" N. Racine, of Dayville and Janice A. (Cooke) Cooper of Sterling. She attended the Killingly School System, and worked at several jobs, most recently as a nurse's aide. Becky had a great deal of energy, and loved talking to and being with her many friends and family. She was known for her witty sense of humor, ready smile, kind heart and joyful laughter. Becky was an avid reader, loved movies, music, the beach, and riding on Harley Davidsons. She was moved by Native American spirituality and traditions. She will be remembered for her tremendous strength (particularly these last few months), cutting honesty, and envious, natural talent for gardening. Becky was very creative and resourceful, able to see great beauty in the simplest of things. Besides her parents, she leaves the love of her life and best friend, her daughter, Tristen Leigh Racine of Brighton, MA, and grand-pup Bentley, her brothers, Marc R. Racine (and wife, Cindy) of Metairie, LA, and John J. Racine (and wife Christy) of Dayville, sister Natalie J. Real of Avon, step-father, Lincoln A. Cooper of Sterling, step-brothers, Benjamin A. Cooper of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Matthew R. Cooper, of Danielson, niece Chelsea K. Real of Canton, and nephews Jonas R. Real of Canton, Bryce A. and Ian M. Racine of Metairie, LA, and her very loving and loyal friend and companion, Gary Ruppert of Plainfield. She also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Becky will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents Napoleon and Genevieve Racine, maternal grandparents Nathan W. and Marion E. Cooke and step-brother Samuel L. Cooper of South Killingly. The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to those who supported Becky through her protracted battle. We are truly grateful. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm at Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson, CT. At Becky's request, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
