Elizabeth H. "Libby" Farrell, 85, Venice, died Jan. 8, 2006. She was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Lyndeborough, N.H., and came to Venice 18 years ago from Peterborough, N.H. She was an assistant editor of the magazine Cancer News, published by the national office of the American Cancer Society in New York City. She was a member of Venice-Nokomis Women's Club. She graduated from Adelphi College in Rhode Island and was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John M.; a daughter, Margaret Petersen of Pleasanton, Calif.; a son, Robert of Newton, Mass.; a sister, Lillian Slosek of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Marks' Episcopal Church. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 513 Nassau St. S., Venice, FL 34285.
