(Smith) Gauvin, 74 of Lunenburg, MA formerly of Westminster, MA. died Friday April 22, 2011 in her home after an illness.She was born on February 17,1937 in Fitchburg, MA. the daughter of Arthur and Ora (Hawkins) Smith and was raised in Fitchburg. She attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School class of 1954. She worked as an accountant for Mercadante Accounting in Fitchburg, MA., for 36 years before her retirement in 1998.She is survived by her husband of 56 years Robert A. Gauvin of Lunenburg, MA. her son Dale R. Gauvin and his life partner Mary Poudrier of Fitchburg, MA., her daughters, Brenda L. Gauvin-Chadwick of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sandra I. Gauvin- Tosoni of Leominster, MA. and Darlene T. Gauvin- Beaudoin and her husband Keith of Lunenburg, MA., her grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Brandon, Nicholas, Taylor, and Laura. She also leaves several nephews and nieces.GAUVIN -- A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11a.m. in The Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA. A calling hour will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 10 until 11a.m. Saturday morning.
