Jennings, Eileen M. A longtime resident of the Elmira area passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 19, 2009 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility following an illness at the age of 74. Born on October 27, 1934 in Elmira, Eileen was the daughter of the late Joseph C. &amp; Alva Scherer Saltus. She married Elwin "Al" Jennings in 1951 and together they have shared a lifetime of memories. She was employed as the Office Manager for Dr. Peter L. Strumpf DDS for decades. Devoted to her career, Eileen became part of the Strumpf family. She was a former secretary and treasurer for the Southport Numismatic Association. A devoted homemaker, she provided a warm and comfortable home for her family who survive and cherish her memory; loving husband of 58 years, Elwin "Al" Jennings; their sons, CMSgt (Ret) Thom (Mirjam) Jennings, Eagle River, AK; and Timothy (Deborah) Jennings, Albany, NY; grandchildren, Christie (Drew) VandenDries and Jamie (Justin) Shoup; a sister, Lucille Sayles, Pine City, NY; nieces, nephews and family friends. Eileen was predeceased by her two brothers, Earl and Donald Saltus. REVISED SERVICES Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home &amp; Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Sunday, March 22, 2009 between the hours of 4&#58;30 - 7&#58;30 pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Jennings will follow the visitation at 7&#58;30 p.m. with her family friend, the Reverend Skip Reed officiating. Graveside services will take place Monday morning at 10 a.m. in Sts. Peter &amp; Paul's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Rd.
