JOHNSTON, Eileen Eileen Baker Johnston, 94, of Englewood, Florida, died peacefully in her home on July 14, 2014. Eileen spent the last 30 years living in Englewood, but she lived other chapters of her life in Indiana, Missouri, New York, Georgia and Belgium. Eileen was born on April 26, 1920, in Clarks Hill, Indiana, to Fred and Grace Baker. She grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana, as the fourth of five daughters. She proudly served as a sergeant in the Women's Army Corp during World War II. After her military service, she attended and graduated from Purdue University where she met and married George Johnston, her husband of 66 years. Eileen is survived by her husband, George, her son Stephen and his wife Julia Johnston of Marietta, Georgia, her daughter, Janna Johnston of Melbourne, Florida, and her four grandchildren, Stephen and James Johnston, and Hunter and Jade Warn. Visitation is Tuesday, July 22, 10 a.m. at Englewood Community Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Burial is at Sarasota National Cemetery.
