Edward H. Colson, 78Sentinel & EnterpriseWEST TOWNSEND -- Edward H. Colson, 78, of 70 West Elm St., formerly of Old Shirley Road, Lunenburg and also formerly of Leominster, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster, after a brief illness.Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Gardner, he was the son of Willard R. and Alexina E. (Devarney) Colson. Mr. Colson worked for the Townsend Carwash in Townsend since 1986. Previously he worked for the family business Colsons Auto Parts in Lunenburg. Mr. Colson leaves four nephews, Francis C. Colson of Gardner, Nelson and David Colson of Lakeland, Fla. and Maurice Brassard of Lancaster; seven nieces, including Shirley A. Camber of West Townsend with whom he lived with for 18 years; two great-nephews; four great-nieces; and many great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces. Two brothers predeceased him, Francis Colson, who died in 1977 and Henry Colson, who died in 1956; and a sister, Esther Colson Hancock Brassard who died in 1967. COLSON -- A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial will be private. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, Nov. 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
