World TravelerAIKEN, S.C. - Mrs. Edna Smith Nolan, 54, wife of Mr. Corbet Nolan, entered into eternal rest on August 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, Born July 21, 1960 in Augusta, GA, Edna was the daughter of Elizabeth Jones Smith and the late John Russell Smith. She married Corbet Nolan March 15, 1985. She was a 1978 graduate of LBC and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina. She was also a member of Bath First Baptist Church. Mrs. Nolan is survived by her husband of 29 years, Corbet Nolan, Aiken, SC; her mother, Elizabeth Jones Smith; her daughters, Rebecca Jowers (Curtis) and Rachael King (Daniel); her brother, Calvin "Bubba" Smith (Angelia) all of Bath, SC; and her grandchildren, Taylor Horne, Jocelyn Jones, and Tripp and Samuel King. Pallbearers will be James Goff, James Whitaker, Hunter Hodge, Wayne Farrell, Russell Smith and Pedro Rodriguez. Wayne Nolan and James Davidson will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bath First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. She played mostly classical pieces on the piano but Elton John songs just for Corbet. She was a world traveler, loved the beach and flowers but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. No. 1, Langley, SC.
