MANCHESTER - Edith L. Johnston, 68, of Manchester, died Dec. 25, 2013, at her home. She was born on Aug. 6, 1945, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Scott) Beck. Eddie was raised and educated in Canada. She came to the States 48 years ago. She operated Eddie's Day Care in her home for many years. Edith loved baking and camping. Her witty sense of humor will be missed. Family includes her husband of 48 years, Kendall C. Johnston of Manchester; three children, Cheryl Coughlin and her husband, Tom, of Manchester, Belinda Johnston of New Hampshire and Reginald Beck of New York; four grandchildren, Alex Coughlin, Courtney, Meghan and Jacob Johnston; two brothers, Lloyd and David Beck, both of St. John; and her sister, Anne Beck of Hanna, Alberta, Canada. . services: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the N.H.
