Dorothy E. Age 90, of Elmira passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Dorothy was born on August 15, 1912 in Dansville NY, the daughter of the late Fiske and Emma Marshall Harter. She married Gerald Pritchard on December 21, 1935. She was a life long member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Elmira, where she remained very active over the years. She was a member of the Harmony & Winola Lodges, the Card Club, worked at the election polling stations, enjoyed gardening, nature, and flowers. Dorothy loved animals and was one of their greatest supporters. Surviving is her loving husband of 67 years, Gerald, sons, Roy (Elizabeth) Pritchard of Cheshire, CT, Loren Pritchard of Horseheads, daughters, Kay (William) Rice of Montour Falls, Norma (Robert) Carl of Elmira, brother, Percy Harter of TX., grandchildren, Linda and Stephen Pritchard, Stacey DeAngelis, Mark, Dennis and Holly Rice, Hillary and Janine Geiger, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Harold and Marshall Harter. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2002 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 356 W. Thurston St., Elmira from 2-4PM. Funeral Services will be held following (4PM) with the Rev. Patrick Holder officiating and Lay Pastor Fred Edmister assisting. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira. Arrangements are with Ballard and Lindgren Funeral Home, Elmira Heights. Memorial donations in Dorothy's name may be directed to the Epworth United Methodist Church, Chemung County SPCA, or to the Elmira Animal Shelter.
