Dorothy Marie Allen, 87, of Chiefland, passed away at Haven Hospice in the Tri Counties in Chiefland with her family by her side. Ms. Dorothy was a lifelong resident in this area. She was born in Cedar Key and stayed in the area. She met and married, Silas 'Si' Allen and together they made Chiefland their home, raising their beautiful family here, extending their family community to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Dorothy was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church and she worked in the Levy County School System as an all-time favorite cafeteria worker for over 20 years. She also loved to crochet, quilt, fishing, and spending as much time as she could with her sweet family.She is survived by her children, Robert Wesley (Cande) Allen, David(Melanie) Allen, Howard Carlton Allen, Kay Allen Gordon, Ida (Jim) Brunger of Bell and Carolyn Allen; 10 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren and two 2 great-great-grandchildren, most all of Chiefland.Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Roy James and Elsie Marie (Ingram) Walker; her husband, Si Allen; son, Leroy Allen; daughter-in-law, Carol Allen and a grandson, Hank Allen.Mrs. Allen's services will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services with visitation Monday Feb. 2 from 6-8 p.m. Her services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb.3 at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Keisler officiating.
