Dorothy Hall Williams of Gainesville died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The Rev. Phil DeMore will officiate. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, from 2 p.m. until service time. A private graveside service will be held for family members at Alta Vista Cemetery. Born in Campbell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Leverette Harris and Elizabeth Mason Hall. She was retired from the Gainesville city school system. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. "Granny," as she was lovingly known by all, was predeceased by her loving husband, Reid T. Williams; and one of their four loving daughters, Jane Williams Henry. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Williams Richardson and son-in-law, Dennis Richardson, of LaGrange, with whom Mrs. Williams had made her home the past three years, Sheila Williams Nix of Gainesville, and Jean Williams Michely and son-in-law, Walter Michely, of Gainesville. Mrs. Williams was blessed with five grandchildren, Zachary Williams Nix of Gainesville, Beth Richardson Doerr and her husband, Jimmy Doerr, of LaGrange, Ricky Richardson and his wife, Pam Richardson, of Roswell, Jennifer Kesler Bagwell and her husband, William Bagwell III, of Lula, and Reid Fallyer and wife, LeighAnn Fallyer, of Lousiana. Mrs. Williams is survived by her nine loving great-grandchildren, James and John Richardson, Abby, Sara Kate, Lizzie, and Reid Doerr, William and Emmaline Bagwell and Aubrey Fallyer. Mrs. Williams was eighth of 11 children and is survived by her three siblings, Elsie Hall Hatley, Thelma Hall Heglar and Ruby Hall Link, all of North Carolina; and she was also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
