Doris Irene DAVIS September 16, 1915 to October 21, 2013 Doris passed away in Nanaimo BC on October 21, 2013 in her 98th year. She was predeceased by Ted, her husband of 60 years, in 1998. Doris is survived by her two sons, Gary (Judy) and Ron (Daphne), all in Parksville BC, and by her two grandsons, Scott in Vancouver and Jeffrey (Diana) in London UK.Mom was born in Winnipeg on September 16, 1915. She and Dad were married there in 1938. They moved to Vancouver in 1942, initially living on Sea Island, then Vancouver and finally Surrey. She moved to Nanaimo in 2006.Doris and Ted were dedicated square dancers and Doris was especially proud of the award she received for fifty years with the Silver Saddles Square Dance Club. They traveled widely and she had stories about most places in Europe and many from Southeast Asia and Africa. Doris enjoyed games and enthusiastically played bridge and Canasta until a few weeks before her passing.Thank you to the staff at Berwick-On-The-Lake for their friendliness during Mom's residency and their kind care during her last weeks.
