Young, Doreen ALEXANDRIA, Va. Doreen Elizabeth Young joined her beloved husband of 72 years, John, in everlasting peace on August 23, 2013. She was born in Bristol, England in 1922. She married the love of her life, John Young, in 1940. The Youngs came to the United States in 1942 and settled in Baltimore, where Carole and Patty were born and moved to New York in 1953 where John Ross was born. John and Doreen moved to Virginia in 2005 to be closer to their daughters. Doreen is survived by her children, Carole Barnes (William), Patricia Connelly and John Young (Emma); her grandchildren, Cheryl and Michael (Kristen) Barnes, Debbie Tylka (Wes), Laura Wright (Vinnie), Jill Connelly (Brian van der Brug), Anthony Connelly (Nidia); great-grandchildren, Jack Roerick, Taylor, Justin and Kieran Barnes, Brendan and Kendyl Wright, Brady and Brooke Tylka, Sierra and Jack van der Brug, Anthony and Aiden Connelly and John and Jeffrey Young. A memorial service was held on August 28, 2013 at the Manchester Lakes Chapel in Alexandria.
