LOWELL - Diana F. Carpenter, 62, of Lowell, the 23-year companion of Barbara McClure, died Sunday, July 18, at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. She was born in Boston, May 27, 1942, a daughter of the late Frank and Rita (King) Carpenter. She resided in Dorchester before moving to Lowell 27 years ago.Ms. Carpenter was a machine operator for C. R. Bard in Billerica from 1981 until 1987.Besides her companion, she is survived by two brothers, Howard Lapaglia of Maine and Jack Carpenter of Dorchester; two sisters, Ann Silva of Charlestown and Elizabeth Gathers of Revere; her companion's children, Bob Harris Jr. of Tewksbury, Mark Harris of Lawrence and Eric Harris of Lowell; her companion's grandchildren, Matthew, Meaghan and Mackenzie Harris; also several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Anthony Lapaglia and Susan Thomas.
