David William Carr JOHNS ISLAND - David William Carr, 67, of Johns Island, SC, husband of Ruth Lampe Carr, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. His funeral service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015, in the Omar Shrine Temple, 176 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with an Eastern Star Service at 6:30 p.m. David was born September 5, 1947 in San Diego, California, son of the late Herbert William Carr and Dorothy Margaret Wright Carr Hayes. He was the owner of D & D Enterprises. David was a member of Franklin Lodge #96, A.F.M., James Island Chapter #284, O.E.S., Omar Shrine Temple and Hillbilly Clan #82. He served in the U.S. Navy. He dedicated his life to the Shrine Hospitals and the care of the children. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Johns Island; his mother, Dorothy Margaret Hayes (Bob) of Port Elizabeth, NJ; two daughters: Cynthia Denise Carr Nair (Shandra) of Falls Church, VA and Arianne Lynda Carr Hardt (Perry) of Reston, VA; 4 grandchildren: Sita Denise and Priya Shandra Nair, and Eitan David and Asher Dermott Hardt; 6 siblings: Beverly Carr Morgan (Bob), Geoffrey Carr (Kate), Michael Carr (Margaret), Michele Carr Daviduk (Bob), Christopher Carr (Linda) and Matthew Carr (Charlene); 10 nieces and nephews; and 3 great-nieces and great-nephews.
