READFIELD -- David Everett Poulin of Readfield passed away at VA Maine Healthcare System at Togus peacefully on Dec. 2, 2012, after a long illness. He was born to Emile J. Poulin and Vera Ames Poulin on July 28, 1941, in Augusta. He served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict, was honorably discharged, and became active in the local chapters of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He held many jobs after serving his country. He was a locksmith, a meat cutter, a construction worker and finally retiring as the store manager for the Manchester J&S Oil Co. He is predeceased by his parents and older brother, Paul Poulin. David is survived by his loving wife, Sandra C. Poulin, of Readfield; his sister-in-law, Cecile Poulin, of Augusta; his brother, Donald Poulin, and wife Wanda, of Randolph; his daughter, Robin Verow, of Gardiner, and her children, Lauren and Thomas; his son, Randall Poulin, and his fiancee, Crystal Shorey, of Augusta; his daughter, Randah-Lee, and son Randall; his stepson, Scott Littlefield, of Readfield, and his wife, Janet, and their four children, Evan, Brenden, Kameron and Deklan; and one great-grandchild.He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews.A special thanks goes to all of the staff at the VA in Togus for their untiring support and care of David as his health declined until the end.There will be a service for David at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local humane society.
