DAVID THOMAS NOLANDavid Thomas Nolan, 60, of Rogers, died Tuesday May 27 at his home. He was born January 9, 1943, in Little Rock to William and Ruth Tin-sdale Nolan. Mr. Nolan graduated from Little Rock Central High School, Little Rock University, and the University of Arkansas majoring in Architec-ture and Commercial Art. He then did his graduate work at the Univer-sity of Illinois in Public Facility Ma-nagement. Mr. Nolan served in the Navy dur-ing Vietnam receiving eight med-als from two different countries, as well as a special unit commenda-tion from the Secretary of the Navy in addition to two personal com-mendations from the Navy and one Presidential commendation. He was also awarded the American Spirit Honor Medal from the Citi-zenªs Committee for the Army, Navy and Air Force. He was active in the NWA Audubon Society having served as director and as president on multiple occa-sions, and as newsletter editor for seven years. Mr. Nolan was active in the Spring-dale Lions Club, International Bro-therhood of Magicians, and the Hil-lborne Heritage Foundation. He was a wildlife photographer with publishing credits in various maga-zines, newspapers and on televi-sion. His hobbies included sailing small boats, designing commercial build-ings, collecting stamps, holding a certificate as ªMaster Oceanogra-pherª from the Navy, and a pilot of sailplanes. He was also a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He Received the Lion of the Year award twice from the Springdale Lionªs Club, and was a designer of corporate jewelry. Survivors include Janet Clark of the home, a brother, Benny D. Nolan of Siloam Springs; nieces, Linda Eas-terly of Little Rock and Gail (Nolan) Lumpkin of Jonesboro, and a ne-phew, Mike Nolan of Maumelle. Services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Sisco Chapel with Larry Branum officiating. Interment will be at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale family will be present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pallbearers are Tal Bowman, Don Fuller, Jerry Reinert, Tim Bunch, Dale Miller and Al Newton.
