McCRACKEN, Claire Peacefully at home, as she had wished, on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Arthur D. McCracken. Devoted mother of Elizabeth, Ottawa; Ian (Linda), Sudbury; Bruce (Ann Louise Revells), Ottawa; and Murray (Charlotte Williams), Martensville, SK. Cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Claire was born on September 8, 1923 in Cornwall, Ontario to Charles and Agnes Bergeron. She was predeceased by her brothers Bruno Amyot (the late Annette); Gerald Amyot (the late Lorette); and John Bergeron (Jackie). She is survived by her sister Adele Bucholtz (Ron). After graduation from CCVS (Cornwall Collegiate), Claire attended Queen's University. Following World War II, she married Art, her high school sweetheart, and they relocated to Ottawa where they started their family life. Over the years, Claire volunteered her time to many charitable organizations. Claire lived her life dedicated to her family, always enjoying the role of being the consummate homemaker. Claire's life will always be cherished and celebrated by her family and friends. At Claire's request she will be cremated. There will be no service at this time. Our sincerest thanks and deepest appreciation to Mom's loving caregivers, Nadia and Astrid. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire's name may be made to The Ottawa Humane Society, the Salvation Army, or to a charity of your choice. Love you, Dearest Mom.
