JONES _ Christina Anne "Nena" (nee MacLennan) passed away peacefully October 13, 2006, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the age of 85 years. Nena was born on April 25, 1921 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She lived her life with passion, dignity and acceptance. She was a "trooper" and her passing was the same...a gentle slipping into death. Nena's life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend enriched all who knew her. Her passion for athletics, drama, music, family and friends saw her through her growing up years on the prairies, her marriage of 56 years to Jack, and latterly her final years in Victoria and Vancouver. Nena is survived by: her children David (Ann), Peter and Barbara; her grandchildren Rian, Meyrick (Sacha), Brian (Kelly), Alexia, Gordon (Aleta) and Ian (Susan), and her great-grandchildren Mattias, Aia, and Megan. Nena is also survived by her brother Don and sisters Dorothy and Sandy and many friends and extended family. Nena was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1998 and her beloved daughter-in-law, Sue, earlier this year. A memorial service will be held at Lady Chapel, Christ Church Cathedral on Quadra St, Victoria, BC on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 2 pm. A memorial tea at Shannon Oaks, Waverley St., Vancouver will be held from 1:30-3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2006.
