Charles W. Johnson, 79, died Jan. 24, 2007, at Martin Memorial Hospital South in Stuart. He was born in Springfield, Ill., and lived in Hobe Sound for 13 years, coming from Hallandale. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. Before retirement, he owned Butler-MacDonald Enterprises Inc. in Hobe Sound. Survivors include his son, Mark Johnson of Westcliffe, Colo.; daughter, Maryanne Neill of New York; sister, Gladys Nemecz of Hobe Sound; brother, Joseph H. Johnson of Northfield, Ill.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 32C Osceola St., Stuart, FL 34994. SERVICES: Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Jan. 30 at Young & Prill Funeral Home in Stuart, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.
