Charles Sharp Thomas, 78, of 524 W. Greer St., husband of Zelle Crawford Thomas, died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center. Born in Donalds, he was a son of the late L.C. (Buster) and Erin Sharp Thomas. He was owner and operator of Thomas Supply Co. and retired after 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Honea Path Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, of the home; one son, Steve Thomas, of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. R.M. Jr. (Kathy) Stone, of Starr; and four grandchildren, Robert M. Stone III and wife Joyce Trammell Stone, of Starr, Samuel Jarrett Stone of Starr, Nathaniel Ryan Thomas of Columbia and Beck Stoudemire Peters of Charleston. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Garden of Memories, with the Rev. Tom Sherer and the Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. The body is at Pruitt Funeral Home, where the family received friends Monday. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made to Honea Path Presbyterian Church, 106 Church St., Honea Path, SC 29654. The family is at home.
