Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Charles Sherman Harrell, 83, Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010. The Rev. James Cohorn will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.Charles was born and raised in Calhoun County, where he was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Charles was also a United States Army veteran.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annie J. Harrell; sons, Eddie (Cassy) Harrell, Oxford, and Travis Harrel, Birmingham; grandchildren, Cody and Carly Harrell; and brother, Calvin (Sarah) Harrell.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie A. and Dixie Lee Harrell; and a sister, Verna Scales Nelson.Pallbearers will include Jerry Kirkland, Joe Harrell, Mike Harrell, Marlin Harrell, Tom Parris and Ricky Formby.Special thanks to the staff at Northside Health Care and staff of the CICU Unit at Riverview Regional, Dr. Todd Cross and Dr. Courtney Lowe. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
