BROCKTON Charles Sargent, 88, a life long resident of Brockton, passed away at Saint Josephs Manor, Oct. 20, 2008, after a period of failing health. He was born March 23, 1920. Mr. Sargent was the devoted husband of the late Grace M. (Bower) Sargent. A local painting contractor for many years, he enjoyed traveling throughout New England to visit friends and sight see. Mr. Sargent was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. His biggest joy in life was spending time with family and he is survived by five children, Gail Proulx, Charlotte Conroy, Elwin Sargent, Richard Sargent and Wayne Sargent. He was also the father of the late Edward Sargent. Mr. Sargents family also included 17 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren. He was very loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. A graveside service will be held at 11:30, Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Pine Hill Cemetery. North Main St., West Bridgewater. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
