Charles R. Age 79, of 300 South Main St., formerly of 1312 Grand Central Ave., Elmira, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Charles was born October 10, 1923, in Elmira, son of the late Charles H. and Minnie (Merriam) Campbell. He was a veteran of WWII, having served his country in the US Army. Charles was employed by the Charles F. Evans Co. as a roofer for many years. Charles enjoyed baseball and softball, having played on many area teams. He also had enjoyed his drawing, painting and art. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynne M. and Jeff Hatch of Elmira Heights; a son, Donald J. Urquhart of Crestview, FL; a sister, Bernice Massei of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Rebecca and Jesse Hatch, both of Elmira; great-grandchildren, Tianna, Andrea and Aarika. He was predeceased by his wife, Elise (Bosworth) Campbell; a son, James M. Urquhart; and a sister, Ruth Musscia. Family and friends are invited to call at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2003, from 10 AM to 12 noon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 12 noon. Interment with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
