NOLIN Lieutenant, Colonel, Charles J. Nolin USAF (ret), age 84, of Bridgeport, passed away on Sunday February 14, 2010 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck, a retired officer in the Unites States Air Force, serving from 1943-1975 in Alaska, France, and Africa was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Charles and Eveline (Perron) Nolin and has been a long time area resident. He was a member of the Air Force Association, the Thunderbird Alumni and was a Private Charter Pilot. His love of flying began as a child and remained throughout his lifetime. Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathleen Schrum Nolin; his step-children, Jeffrey Kohut of Bridgeport and Cathy Kohut and her partner Christine Clark of Monroe; his daughter-in-law, Suzanne Lesko Kohut and her partner Meaghan Monahan of Bridgeport; his cherished grandchildren whom he loved dearly Jessica Lynn Kohut and her fianc� Jon Wigglesworth and Thomas John Kohut; his sister Claire Snipes of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepson, John M. Kohut. Funeral services will take place on Friday February 19th at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
