WHITEHEAD, Charles Henry Willett - Charles Henry “Hank” Willett Whitehead, born March 21, 1917, in Delhi, Ontario, died October 20, 2007 in St. Marys Memorial Hospital, aged “ninety-and-one-half years,” after a long struggle with heart disease. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 43 years, Margaret Jean Whitehead (nee Williamson), his children Doug Whitehead of Montreal, Sue Taylor of Kingston, Rob Whitehead and wife Erin Davis of Toronto and Lois Whitehead of Halifax, and grandchildren Philippe, Carolyn, Lauren and Catherine Whitehead. Henry was preceded in death by first wife Beulah (nee Leighfield, d. 1963). A good-natured, devoutly Christian man from a large family, Henry was a member of Westview Baptist Church in London, and former Treasurer and Deacon for Maitland Street Baptist Church in London, First Baptist Church in Sudbury, and First Baptist Church in Brantford. Henry committed his strong work ethic to all that he did, beginning with tobacco picking at a young age and followed by a long administrative career, notably including Sudbury Memorial Hospital, Brantford General Hospital and Summerhayes Lumber (Brantford). He also served in WWII as an administrator at a training base in Southwestern Ontario. Stubborn and quick-witted, a sweets lover, Blue Jays fan and flirt, he will be missed and loved by many friends and family members forever. Services will be held at NEEDHAM FUNERAL HOME, (520 Dundas Street, London 519-434-9141) on Saturday, October 27th with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and funeral at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. David Stead and Rev. Reg Babbey.
