Charles Handley Allen, 73, of Hodgenville, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. He was a truck driver with more than 46 years of service, a member of LaRue Baptist Church in Hodgenville and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elva and Gracie Underwood Allen; four sisters; and two brothers.He is survived by his wife, Iva Dean Hazle Allen; two daughters, Judy Bottoms of Hodgenville and Sandra Kaye Allen of Upton; five sons, Randy (Teresa) Allen and Steve Sperko, all of Hodgenville, Charles "Chuckie" Russell (Mary) Allen, Jim (Becky) Allen and Mike Allen, all of Indiana; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six stepchildren.The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Pastor Donald Kennedy officiating. Cremation will follow.Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and continues at 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
