Charles Edward 'Chuck' Comeau, 67 WELLS -- Charles Edward 'Chuck' Comeau, 67, of Wells, died on Friday evening, June 22, 2012, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born in Portland on Sept. 2, 1944, the son of Edmund Francis and Louise Patricia (Melanson) Comeau. He was raised in Sanford by his foster parents, Sally and Jerry Lamontagne. He was educated by the Brothers of Christian Instruction in Alfred, and graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Sanford. He was married to the former Connie Gauthier of Wells. Chuck was a Master Electrician, and worked for Mancini Construction in Portland, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed researching genealogy, and had traced his family tree back to King Louis XV. He was also an accomplished photographer, and was a member of the American Legion, Post 19. Charles was predeceased by a brother, Donald Comeau. He is survived by his wife, Connie Comeau of Wells; Connie's two daughters, Michelle LaChapelle of Ogunquit, Tricia Harrington and her husband John of Liberty; his foster parents, Jerry and Sally Lamontagne of Sanford; one brother, Frank Comeau and his wife Barbara of South Carolina, two sisters, Betty Comeau and her husband Raymond of Mount Dora, Fla., Susan Jackson and her husband Roger of Dallas, Texas; two foster brothers, Stephen Lamontagne and his wife Marcela of Mount Dora, Fla., Mark Lamontagne and his wife Sharon of Portland, one foster sister, Janice Guillmette and her husband Patrick of Sanford; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd., Wells.
