SANFORD — Charles E. Quirion was born on July 20, 1925, in Sanford, to Emile and Maria Quirion.He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and served on the U.S.S. New Jersey in the South Pacific.After the war, he returned to Sanford, where he met Annette St. Jean. Charlie and Annette married in Sanford on Sept. 11, 1948. They had four children: Marie (died during childbirth), Trish, JoAnne and Chuck.After Trish and JoAnne were born, they moved to North Carolina, where Chuck was born. Charlie took a job there as plant manager with National Spinning Co. After living in North Carolina for over 9 years, they moved back to New England to open a Dairy Queen in Concord, New Hampshire.In 1983, Charlie and Annette moved to Tucson, Arizona, to retire. Charlie kept busy with projects around the house and golfing. He joined the Knights of Columbus, Ave Maria Council 9380.On Jan. 26, 2008, Charlie lost his wife Annette after 59 years of marriage. He truly missed Annette the last 2 ½ years.Charlie is survived by three of his children, Trish, JoAnne and Chuck; his grandchildren, Claudia, Tony, and Chelsea and her husband, Jamie; his brother, Roger Quirion, in Sanford, and his children, Kathy, Doreen, Ken and Cecile; and, of course, his two "adopted daughters," Eileen and Julie.Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew him; however, we all know he is now with his wife Annette, their first born daughter Marie, and sister-in-law Rejean Quirion.>
