UNDERWOOD ABBOTT, CHARLES E. "CHUCK", 74, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2006 while in the company of family members at Scott Memorial Hospital, Scottsburg, IN. Mr. Abbott was born in New Washington, IN, on May 8, 1931. He was the son of the late Charles Herman and Iva (Montgomery) Abbott. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Church, Salem, IN, a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and Air Force, a retired pipefitter at ICI America, Charlestown, IN. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Marie (Cissell) Abbott. They were married March 13, 1954. Other survivors include, sons, Charles "Eddie" (Teresa) of Henryville, IN, Donald (Linda) Abbott, both of Henryville, IN; daughters, Beverly Bagshaw (Greg), Becky Grantz (Mark), Judy Johnson (Doug), all of Henryville, IN; brother, James Abbott of Lexington, IN; sisters, Lillian Ater, Frances Gray, Ruth Sullivan all of Henryville, Wanita Aubrey of Wilmington, OH, Roberta VanMeter of Charlestown, IN, Alice Hall of Scottsburg, IN, Sandy Coulter of Sellersburg, IN and Mary Cable of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service, Henryville, IN, with Pastor Rodney Sweeney officiating. Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Friday at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service with interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Otisco, IN, with full Military Honors.
