Charles Alfred Allen, 82, of Grayson, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014.Born in Charlotte, N.C., and a long-time resident of Athens, Mr. Allen was the son of the late L.J. and Myla Hardman Allen and was also preceded in death by his son, Gregory C. Allen. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a graduate of Georgia Tech, and owned and operated Allen's Turf & Tractor, in Snellville, from 1982 to 2001. Mr. Allen was a member of Snellville Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Marie Edwards Allen, of Grayson; daughter, Debbie Allen, of Grayson; and brother, Leon Allen, of Athens.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery (1761 Hwy. 29 N., Athens, GA 30605), with the Rev.
