Cecil Nathaniel Patterson, 82, of 127 Chipley Lane, husband of Rose Marie Gorman Patterson, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at St. Francis, Downtown. Born in Iva, he was the son of the late Daniel Nathaniel and Annie Belle Sutherland Patterson. Mr. Patterson was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and of the Methodist faith. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jannette and Ricky Elliott of Powdersville, and Nannette and Mark Harvell of Pelzer; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Joe and Kristy Patterson of LaGrange, Ga.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna "Bill" Saxon of Greenwood; and a brother, Robert Patterson, Jr. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2700 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611. Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2008, from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. in the downtown chapel.
