UntitledCARROLL ELLIS KINGOCTOBER 28, 1955MARCH 12, 2009Carroll Ellis King, 53, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at his Florida home after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born October 28, 1955 in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He served his country in the United States Navy in the Viet Nam era. Carroll married the love of his life on April 14, 1982. In 1987, Carroll went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science from Troy State University. He enjoyed thirty years as a Civil Service employee as a Transportation Manager at Public Works at NAS, Whiting Field. Carroll was a member at Pine Terrace Baptist Church, where he served as an usher.Mr. King is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Frye; father, Roy Ellis King; and son, Darryl Leonard Goodwin.Carroll is survived by his beautiful wife of 28 years, Deena Marie King; and two daughters, Constance Marie Bradley and Darla Jean Harrell and Daniel Bryant; four brothers, Ricky (Beverly) King, Rick (Vicki) Adkins, Danny (Dee) King; one sister, Linda (Dave) Curry; eight grandchildren, Devin Goodwin, Hunter Stephens, Savanna Bradley, Cody Goodwin, Bradley Goodwin, Sierra Stephens, Delany Harrell and Baby, Cooper Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation for Mr. King will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Pine Terrace Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2009 with Brother Mike Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel directing. Pallbearers will be Dave Koppin, Tom Carter, Ken Misenheimer, Waylan Lunsford,Doug Filbert, Ben Lewis, and Buddy Bradley;(Alternate)-Chris Walters. Honarary Pallbearers are Al Melvin, Ron Cherry, Tony Land, Michael Willis,and Sam Mullins.Carroll was loved and will be greatly missed by a host of family, friends.Friends may send condolences and share fond memories with the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.net
