Davis, Caroline Rebecca Apr. 29, 1933 - Dec. 6, 2014 Caroline Rebecca McAlister Davis, age 81, passed away on December 6, 2014, in Murphy, North Carolina after a long illness. In addition to her parents, Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Will Davis of Sarasota, Florida; one daughter, Robin McLees of Anderson, South Carolina; and one brother Johnny McAlister of Dothan, Alabama. Survivors include one brother Miles McAlister, and his wife Margy from Murphy, North Carolina; niece Madeline and her husband Mike McCauley from Barrington, Illinois; niece Cynthia and her husband Bill Gray from Alpharetta, Georgia; and niece Lisa and her husband Steve South from Roswell, Georgia; plus several great nieces and nephews. Caroline was born in Anderson, South Carolina. She also lived in McCormick South Carolina, where she attended McCormick High School and was Homecoming Queen twice. After graduating from high school she married Will Davis from Knoxville, Tennessee. They lived in Atlanta Georgia until they retired in 1988 and moved to Sarasota, Florida. Before moving to Sarasota, Caroline was a volunteer hostess at the Swan House in Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to Sarasota, she and Will became members of The Church of the Palms. Caroline was an active member of the Home Owners Association at The Lakes Estates, on McIntosh Road, where she lived. Caroline was a 'Master Bridge Player' at the age of 25 and she continued playing Bridge with various groups in Sarasota. Also, while living in Sarasota, she was an avid rose gardener. Another recreational activity Caroline enjoyed was bicycling in her neighborhood with her friend Kathleen Powell. After Will died, most of her spare time was devoted to Oscar (her Shih tzu), and Snowflake (her flame tip Siamese), and Boots (her black Siamese). The happiest time of her life was when she lived in Sarasota, Florida. Caroline will be cremated and placed with her beloved husband, Will Davis in Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. A private ceremony will be held there at a later date.
