ANDERSON Carol E. Anderson ("Sugar"), a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Bridgeport Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Jacqueline E. Bridgeforth (Wooten) and the late Thomas Anderson and the late Hawley E. Wooten Sr. She was a graduate of Bassick High School and attended Housatonic Community College. She was a 24-year employee of the City of Bridgeport as a buyer for the purchasing department. She also served as a fellow daughter of New Era Lodge, Juanita Temple 69 (the Elks) of Bridgeport. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Jacqueline Bridgeforth-Wooten of Hamden; two daughters, Alexis Young and Regan Anderson of Bridgeport; one son, Darryl Anderson, also of Bridgeport; three brothers, Gilbert Bridgeforth (Christal), Hawley Wooten Jr. and Lawrence Wooten (Janet), all of Hamden; two sisters, Jacqueline Jenkins of Bridgeport and Theresa Wooten of Hamden; four grandsons, Jeffrey Santos Jr. and Marcus Dickey of Bridgeport, and Darryl Anderson Jr. and Justin Anderson of Naugatuck; three granddaughters, Sydney E. Santos and Ryan S. Taylor of Bridgeport, and Skyla Anderson of Stratford; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Friendship Baptist Church in Stratford with the Rev. Johnny Gamble officiating. Friends may greet the family from 11 a.m. to noon, at which time the services will begin. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport, has been entrusted with arrangements.
