Jensen: Carl Amery June 25, 1929 - May 23, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandpa, Carl. He passed away on May 23, 2005 at the age of 75 years. He is survived by Lorraine, his loving and devoted wife of 53 years; two sons, Don (Gail) and Craig (Linda); a special daughter-in-law, Cherryll; 12 grandchildren, Lainya, Jared, Ciara, Jason, Stacey, Grant, Bryce, Sara, Alissa, Chelsey, Kristen and Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Jessica; his sister Mellia of Calgary; brothers, Ralph (Gladys) of Drumheller and Wally (Joan) of Strathmore; brother-in-law Bill (Mary) of Strathmore; and sisters-in-law, Theresa of Strathmore and Arlyne of Big Valley, along with many nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his daughter Colleen, his two sons, Chris and Terry, his great-grandson Justin and brothers-in-law Carl, Bernard and Irwin. Carl was born in Standard, Alberta on June 25, 1929, the son of Walter and Julia Jensen. At the age of three, his mother passed away and he went to live with his grandparents, Tom and Bothilda Christensen. He attended Grasswold School from grades one through eight, walking two miles to school in the winter and summer. After completing his education he spent two years in the navy. In 1950 Carl moved to Rockyford and accepted a job with Massey Harris and later International Harvester. It was there in 1952 that he met his first and only love of his life, his soulmate, Lorraine Hendricks. Terry, Colleen and Don were born while in Rockyford. In 1956, they moved to Beiseker and started their own IHC dealership there. While living in Beiseker, Chris and Craig were born. In 1961 Carl and his family bought a farm near Rosebud where he and Lorraine stayed until 1993. They retired to Rosebud, where friends and family were always welcome. He believed that the best way to start each morning was with an "I love you", a kiss, and a game or two of crib. He loved to play ball, to golf and to fish. Carl was also an active Rosebud Lion?s Club member. He will be greatly missed by his family and his wide circle of friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at St. Rita?s Catholic Church, Rockyford, at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Rita's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation (1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6) or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (238, 2116 - 27 Ave. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 7A6).
