Mr. Charles Watkins, 63, Rainbow City, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008. A chapel service will be held at 3 p.m. today with the Rev. Randy Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation services directing.He was a lifelong resident of Etowah County, graduated from Emma Sansom High School and attended Jacksonville State University.Mr. Watkins was a retired co-owner of Watkins Metals and Construction and also worked part time for the city of Gadsden at Noccalula Falls.He loved Alabama football and NASCAR.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Watkins; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Watkins; brothers, Buddy Watkins and Ormand Watkins; and sisters, Geraldine Watkins, Hester Thompson and Margie Martin.He is survived by his goddaughter, Sonya Morgan; brother, Roger (Becky) Watkins; brothers-in-law, Bill Thompson and Travis Martin; sister, Faye (Pete) Tuck; sister-in-law, Ann Watkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Mike Harris, Jackie Ray, Phil Owens, Dale Robertson, Hollis Willis, Brent Morgan, Wayne Wood and Hugh Baskin. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Cox and nurse Jessica, Belinda and all CCU staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 tonight at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
