Catherine M. Kearney "Kitty" passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends, Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Kitty was a resident of Pearl River for 41 years, born in NYC. She was 66. Kitty was retired from New York Presbyterian Hospital where she worked as Head Nurse of the Ophthalmology Clinic for 18 years. She received her RN from Edna McConnell School of Nursing at Columbia University. Kitty was a member of the Pearl River Jr. Woman's Club and the Rockland Irish/American Cultural Center, and a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret's R.C. Church of Pearl River, NY. Kitty was known for her huge heart and great smile. She was the devoted wife of William; and loving mother to Eileen, William, and Sean, mother-in-law to Bobbi and Kathleen, and grandmother to Christopher, Matthew, Emerson and Hayden. She is also survived by her loving and loyal canine companion Bubba. Sister to Mary, Patrick and John. Kitty is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Kitty is predeceased by her parents Anna and John Egan of County Cork, Ireland. Visiting hours are Friday, October 3, 2008 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Margaret's R.C. Church, Pearl River, NY. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
