Brian J. Hayes,71, of Marlborough died at home Monday (May 21,2012) surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 37 years Judith W. "Judy" (Williams) Hayes. His children Michael S. Hayes and his wife Hillary of Omaha,NE and Linda L. Wood of Marlborough. Also leaves a brother John M. Hayes Jr. of Norwood and three grandchildren Ryan Wood, Justin Wood and Joseph Hayes. He was the brother of the late Mary Hayes. He was born in Washington,D.C. son of the late John and Josephine (Sullivan) Hayes and has lived in Marlborough for over 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Brookline and a 1966 graduate of Northeastern University with a Degree in Business. Brian owned and operated the Brian J. Hayes Audit Service of Marlborough for over 25 years. He was a member of the Mass Auditors Association and also a member of the National Society of Insurance Premium Auditors. He enjoyed golfing,reading and was an avid New England Sports fan Funeral will be held Thursday (May 24,2012) at 9 A.M. from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Matthias Church,409 Hemenway St.,Marlborough. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either the UMass Memorial Hospice,650 Lincoln St.,Worcester,MA 01605 or to a charity of one's own choice.
