Bernard Reid of Hillside, a longshoreman of 12 years, passed away on March 23, 2010. Visitation is Friday at the Philemon Baptist Church, 246 Shepherd Ave., Newark, from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service is Saturday at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside. Bernard was the beloved husband of Karen K. Grimsley-Reid; devoted father of Kernard K. Reid; loving son of Percilla Paige; dear brother of Sharon Walker; cherished uncle of Tazia Walker, Tifani Grimsley and Chezarae Harris; brother-in-law of Kelvin "Candyman" Grimsley and Ervin Smith, and son-in-law of Ethel and Calvin Grimsley. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
