Avis de décès de Barbara-Wells Palmer

Barbara Wells Palmer, of Wellesley, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Patricks Manor in Framingham where she had resided for a number of years. She was born on November 8, 1922 and turned 90 this past November. Barbara was well known in Wellesley and the surrounding communities for her educational playgroups for young children. She had a knack for arts and crafts and was very creative especially in the projects she did with her young students. Barbara was born in Springfield, MA and was the only child of Fred Warren Wells and Florence B. (Courtemarsh) Wells. She grew up in Springfield with her dog, Mugsy. Barbara graduated from Tech High School and Springfield Teachers College. She then went on to teach elementary school for many years where her students affectionately referred to her as Ms. Palm. In addition to her love of teaching, Barbara also appreciated a good bargain. One of her favorite activities was perusing estate sales with her very close friend, Jackie. She also enjoyed the beach and had many fond memories of summers on Gunning Point in Sippiwissett. Barbaras friends and family knew her as a compassionate, loving and thoughtful, woman who touched many lives with her acts of kindness. She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas Wright Palmer, loving mother of Douglas Wells Palmer of Wellesley, Elizabeth Wright Davidson of Sagamore Beach and daughter-in-law, Melanie A. Palmer. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Timothy Wells Palmer and Torianna Wells Palmer, as well as 8 nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
