CLINTON, Mass. - Barbara E. Field, 77, of Clinton, formerly of Gilford, N.H., passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at the Sterling Village. She was the wife of John D. Field Sr.Born in Needham, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Catherine (Tyman) Thompson. She was educated in Needham schools and graduated from St. Bernard High School.Mrs. Field was a self-employed seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crafts and playing the piano.In addition to her husband she is survived by her eight children, John Field Jr., of Sanbornton, N.H., Catherine E. Powers of Fitchburg, Douglas Field of Clinton, Barbara Geroski of Derry, N.H., Lynne Urso of Shrewsbury, James Field of Gilford, N.H., Kimberly Field of Franklin, N.H., and Alison Schumacher of Newport, Ore.She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 John St., Westborough. There are no calling hours.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Barbara E.
