COHOES, NY - Barbara Christine Jensen, 49, passed away Tuesday (January 6, 2015) at home following a brief illness. There will be no public calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.Because Barbara loved animals; memorials in her name may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo, N.Y.,13165.Barbara was born in Waterloo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Joyce Lydia (Cobb) Jensen. Barbara graduated from Waterloo High School in 1983, received a B.S. from Cornell University, College of Human Ecology, and earned an M.B.A. from International College while living in Florida. In 2004 she moved to Cohoes, N.Y., working as a Senior Personnel Examiner for the N.Y.S. Department of Civil Services. Barbara was young at heart and loved to write, publishing books of whimsical and creative anecdotes from the perspective of a young adventuress. She also loved to laugh and make others happy, took great pleasure in holiday celebrations and giving gifts. She celebrated Christmas with family just prior to her passing. Barbara was an avid hockey fan. Barbara is survived by a sister, Sandra Jensen (Kevin Myers); two brothers, Phillip (Connie) and Kevin (Sherry); nephews, Adam and Alex, along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
