Hilton and Marie (Cox) Griswold. Barbara passed from this life to one eternal on February 24, 2014 at her residence in Springfield, MO at the age of 71 years and 1 week.Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, and is today survived by her father, R. Hilton Griswold of Springfield, MO;her brother, Larry H. (Coleen) Griswold of Plainfield, IL; 1 nephew, Todd Hilton (Kristy) Griswold of Joliet, IL;1 niece, Terri LaRae Griswold of Plainfield, IL;2 great-nieces, Tyler and Hailey;1 great-nephew, Todd, Jr; Numerous other relatives and friends.Barbara was employed at the National Leadership and Resource Center for the Assemblies of God, where she not only worked, but also made a host of friends. She completed 10 years of employment, retiring in 2008.Prior to her transition to Springfield in 1999, Barbara lived and worked in Dallas, TX for 25 years.Barbara enjoyed her family and friends, she passionately enjoyed Gospel music, and she enjoyed and committed herself to the needs of others through her church (Central Assembly of God in Springfield, MO) and made a weekly investment in the lives of residents at the Victory House in downtown Springfield, teaching classes and helping in the life recovery of many women.Barbara was regularly featured as she sang with her father and brother on the program Inspiration Time, released on television, radio and internet releases nationwide.Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Services will be held on Saturday March 1, 2014 @ 10:30 am in the Chapel of Central Assembly of God at 1301 N. Boonville, Springfield, MOThe family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn, Springfield, MO and from 9:30am on Saturday until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Victory House for Women and Children in Springfield, MO
