JENNINGS, Bettye Lynn Henry of 737 Mary Ann Drive passed away Sunday at Angels for the Elderly. She was born in Knoxville, TN, the daughter of the late Frank Perry Henry and Jesse M' Julian. She has a sister, Ruth Weaver, and a brother, the late Jack Henry. Mrs. Jennings attended Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN. She was a homemaker, a substitute teacher and a U.S. Government Civil Service employee. Always an active mem-ber of her church, she taught chil-dren's choirs and adult Sunday School and sang in the choir, often performing solos. She was an artist, best known for her oil paintings. Mrs. Jennings was the reigning Mrs. Alabama in 1966 and was well known for her culinary skills, for which she won several national cooking contests. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Jennings and four children and their spouses: Susan and David Bennett of Memphis, TN; Sharon and Char-lie Smith of Tuscaloosa; Ramsey and Laura Jennings of LaGrange, GA; Danny and Laura Jennings of Montgomery; and 10 grandsons. A fifth child, Kenneth W. Jennings Jr., predeceased her. The grandchil-dren are Philip Bennett and his wife Lisa; John Bennett; Chas and Matt Smith; Ramsey Jr., Hillyer, Camp-bell, and Edwin Jennings; and Tay-lor and Payne Jennings. A visitation will be held at noon Wednesday at Leak-Memory Chapel with a funer-al service following at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jay Wolf will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood CemetEry. The family requests any donations be made to First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry Street, Montgomery, 36104; or Angels for the Elderly As-sisted Living, 52 Angels Court, Mont-gomery, 36109. The family wishes to send a special thanks and appreci-ation for the love, concern and care shown for Mrs. Jennings by the staff for Angels for the Elderly, where Mrs. Jennings resided since January.
