Antoinette "Anne" Diego Carbone January 13, 2010 Antoinette "Anne" Diego Carbone, 92, of 99 East Genesee St., Auburn, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Community General Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Mrs. Carbone was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late James and Lillian Santoro Diego. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church and until her retirement in 1981, she had been employed at General Electric Company for 19 years. Mrs. Carbone was a former choir member at St. Francis of Assisi Church. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Carbone attended daily Mass for many years. She delighted in preparing her festive Italian meals for her family Mrs. Carbone is survived by her beloved sons, Frank A. Jr. and his wife, Rita, of The Villages, FL, and Rocco J. "Rick" of Auburn; a devoted daughter, Rose Marie Zellar and her husband, Richard, of Liverpool; one brother, John Diego and his wife, Marsha, of San Rafael, CA; four sisters, Olympia "Lee" Lauricella of Rochester, Rose Volpe and her husband, Louis, of Valencia, CA, Margaret "Peggy" Musico and her husband, John, of Orange, CA, and Mary Trama and her husband, Joseph, of Auburn; seven grandchildren, David, John, Timothy and Michael Zellar, Frank Carbone III, Carla Spencer and Dina Lewis; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carbone was predeceased by her brothers, Nick, Mario, Alfred and Joseph Diego. Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 19, in St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in the family plot, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 17, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Cheche Funeral Home, Inc., 1778 Clark St., Auburn. The recitation of the Rosary will be conducted Monday evening at 8:30 at the funeral home. Mrs. Carbone devoted her life to her children and to her God. She was blessed with many devoted friends. "I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do." May she rest in peace.
