Annie Mae Thomas Annie Mae Thomas, 72, who owned Thomas Men Fashion Post and worked in retail sales for many years, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005. The service will be at 11 a.m. EST Saturday at St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church on Georgia Street, with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. EST Friday at Strong & Jones Funeral Home (850-224-2139).She was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. She graduated from Florida A&M University technical school with certification in tailoring and retail. She was a member of St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church on Georgia Street. She volunteered much of her time to the Rainbow Learning Center and many other programs in the Tallahassee area.Survivors include two daughters, Shirley T. Hammond (and husband Karl) of Crofton, Md., and Doris Thomas Howard of Tallahassee; two granddaughters, Charvonne Hammond-Taylor (and husband Brian) and Tamera Smith; four grandsons, Deforrest Penny, Marques Hammond (and wife Tamara), Keith Hammond and Theron McMillon; four sisters, Beatrice McNeffer, Minnie Davis, Lillie Mae Dixon and Willie Mae Fedd, all of Tallahassee; five brothers, Albert Cofield, Starling Cofield (and wife Hannah), Arthur Cofield (and wife Lillie Mae) and Johnny Cofield (and wife Freddie Mae), all of Tallahassee, and Freddy Cofield of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Taylor.
