Mrs. Anne Marie "Nancy" Dargis, 60, of Plainfield died on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at the Atlantic Care Medical Center, Atlantic City, N.J. Funeral service is on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains. Visitation is on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Born in Newark, Mrs. Dargis lived in Nebraska and settled in Plainfield in 1974. She was a self-employed tax preparer for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. Nancy was also a Wilton Cake designer and design instructor. She was known for her special touch in designing cakes for weddings, showers, birthday parties or any other occasion. Nancy was also a candy maker. While her daughters' were in school, Nancy was very active as a PTA president and Girl Scout leader. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1997. Surviving Nancy are her beloved daughters, Jennifer M. Dargis, and Amanda J. Allen and her husband, Thomas W.; her cherished grandchildren, Thomas J. and Faith LeeAnn Allen; her caring brother, William Strallow Jr., and her loving sister, Carolyn Lands. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Women's Support Group, Steeplechase Cancer Center, 30 Rehill Ave., Somerville, N.J. 08876.
